EVANSVILLE — Trent Walker, 36, of Spencer County, Indiana, was sentenced to 210 years in federal prison for orchestrating a prolonged campaign of sadistic sexual abuse against two young children and distributing graphic depictions of the crimes online. The sentence, handed down by Judge Richard L. Young, marks one of the most severe penalties ever imposed in a child exploitation case in the Southern District of Indiana.
Walker began sexually abusing one victim when she was a toddler, subjecting her to six years of torture-level abuse that prosecutors described as indistinguishable from prolonged torture. He also abused a six-year-old child over several months. Both children were under his care at the time, placing them in a position of extreme vulnerability. During the sentencing, Judge Young stated the abuse could fairly be described as torture, citing the calculated and degrading nature of Walker’s acts.
Not only did Walker produce hundreds of images and videos of his crimes, but he also ran an online forum dedicated to the sadistic exploitation of infants and small children. As moderator, he actively encouraged members to share abuse material, taught them how to hide their digital footprints, and provided guidance on psychologically and physically manipulating young victims. His role extended beyond perpetrator—he became a facilitator of widespread child abuse across the dark web.
“The vile conduct that Walker inflicted on his victims is reprehensible and will impact these children for the rest of their lives,” said U.S. Attorney Zachary A. Myers. “This sentence ensures that Trent Walker will never have another opportunity to victimize another child and hopefully bring some peace to his victims.”
Federal and state investigators described Walker as a dangerous predator who weaponized technology to amplify his crimes. “The defendant’s repeated sadistic abuse clearly demonstrates he cannot be allowed to be free in the community,” said FBI Indianapolis Acting Special Agent in Charge Robert Middleton. The case was jointly investigated by the FBI, Spencer County Sheriff’s Office, and Indiana State Police—a collaboration that state police Superintendent Douglas G. Carter called essential to delivering justice.
According to Assistant United States Attorney Tiffany J. Preston, Walker will serve consecutive sentences totaling 210 years and is ordered to pay $10,000 in restitution to each victim. The prosecution was conducted under Project Safe Childhood, a Department of Justice initiative targeting child sexual exploitation. For more information, visit www.justice.gov/psc.
