A twice-convicted child sex offender has been sentenced to 4 years in prison after a plea deal in a latest Muncie CSAM case. David L. Johnson pleaded guilty to one count of possession of child sexually abusive material (CSAM) and one count of failure to register as a sex offender. The charges were filed in Delaware County Superior Court on February 22, 2024.
The investigation into Johnson’s activities was led by the Muncie Police Department’s Cyber Crimes Unit, with assistance from the Delaware County Prosecutor’s Office. Johnson was previously convicted of child sex crimes in 2007 and 2011. He was arrested on February 14, 2024 and was being held at the Delaware County Jail on a $100,000 bond.
Johnson’s plea deal was accepted by the court on March 21, 2024. He was sentenced to 4 years in prison, with 2 years suspended. He will also be required to register as a sex offender for the remainder of his life.
