Okemah Man Pleads Guilty to Abusive Sexual Contact with a Child

Muskogee, Oklahoma – In a shocking turn of events, Tyler Leevan Hill, a 28-year-old Okemah man, pleaded guilty to Abusive Sexual Contact with a Child, a federal crime in Indian Country.

The charges against Hill arose from an investigation by the Muscogee Creek Nation Lighthorse Tribal Police and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. According to the indictment, Hill knowingly engaged in sexual contact with a person who had attained the age of 12 years but had not attained the age of 16 years and was at least four years younger than Hill, with an intent to arouse and gratify the sexual desire of any person.

The indictment alleged that the abuse took place between October 30, 2015, and July 22, 2016, in the Eastern District of Oklahoma, in Indian Country.

Hill faces a maximum sentence of not more than 2 years’ imprisonment followed by a term of supervised release of up to life, up to a $250,000.00 fine, or both.

The Honorable Kimberly E. West, U.S. Magistrate Judge in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma, in Muskogee, accepted the plea and ordered the completion of a presentence investigation report.

Assistant United States Attorney Edward Snow represented the United States.
