RICHMOND, Va. – A Chesterfield man was sentenced to 10 years in prison for possession with intent to distribute cocaine.
Urain Alexander Robinson, 52, was convicted of transporting multiple kilograms of cocaine from his residence to a co-conspirator’s house in Hopewell and distributing it on May 18, 2023.
According to court documents, Robinson’s co-conspirator (CC1) had contacted him to purchase cocaine, and shortly after distributing the cocaine to CC1, another co-conspirator (CC2) arrived at CC1’s house and picked up three kilograms of the cocaine. CC2 was stopped by police shortly after leaving CC1’s house.
The cocaine was recovered by police, and law enforcement also seized $8,381 in drug-trafficking proceeds from Robinson’s residence on May 14, 2024.
Robinson has a prior conviction history, including possession with intent to distribute heroin, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and unlawful wounding in 1992 in Virginia, possession with intent to distribute cocaine in 1993 in New Jersey, and possession with the intent to distribute cocaine hydrochloride in 2005 in the Eastern District of Virginia.
Robinson was sentenced by Senior U.S. District Judge Henry E. Hudson after being convicted of possession with intent to distribute cocaine.
The Chesterfield County Police Department assisted in the investigation of this case, which is part of an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF) operation.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Ellen Hubbard prosecuted the case.
