Valdez-Inzunza, Violent Crime, California 2012

On March 14, 2012, federal authorities charged Juan Alberto Valdez-Inzunza with multiple counts of violent crime at the United States District Court for the Central District of California, specifically the Los Angeles courthouse, also known as the CAED Federal District.

The case, Valdez-Inzunza v. United States, stemmed from a series of violent incidents involving the defendant, who allegedly committed a string of robberies and assaults across the Los Angeles area in 2011.

In August 2012, Valdez-Inzunza pleaded guilty to charges of conspiracy to commit robbery and aiding and abetting in the commission of a robbery, both felony offenses.

According to the court records, the defendant’s guilty plea was entered after a lengthy investigation by the FBI and local law enforcement agencies, which uncovered a network of individuals involved in a series of violent robberies.

As part of the plea agreement, Valdez-Inzunza was sentenced to 135 months in federal prison, followed by three years of supervised release. The defendant was also ordered to pay a $200 fine and a $100 special assessment.

The case served as a reminder of the ongoing efforts by law enforcement agencies to combat violent crime in the Los Angeles region.
