BANGOR, Maine — In a shocking turn of events, Victor Sousa, a 24-year-old man from Wayne, Maine, pleaded guilty to lying to a DEA task force officer in a federal narcotics investigation.
According to court records, in November 2022, Sousa was questioned by a Task Force Officer with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) regarding two subjects of a federal narcotics investigation. After denying that he knew either suspect, Sousa called Suspect A from jail multiple times, despite the fact that he had previously lived with Suspect A and that Suspect B had supplied him with narcotics in the past.
Sousa’s actions were a clear attempt to deceive the DEA task force officer, and his guilty plea is a testament to the hard work of law enforcement in uncovering the truth.
