GRIMY TIMES — A shocking revelation from Boston this week as a Waltham man has been hit with serious charges for child pornography possession.
Christopher J. Sullivan, 20, of Waltham, entered his guilty plea in U.S. District Court in Boston earlier today. The case dates back to May 2016 when federal agents were alerted about an inappropriate online interaction between a minor and an adult living in the Waltham area.
Investigations led to a federal search warrant for a Waltham residence, where officers found multiple devices linked to Sullivan. A forensics analysis uncovered explicit content featuring children as young as 7 years old, according to court documents.
Sullivan’s plea carries the potential for up to 20 years in prison, a minimum of five years, and a fine reaching $250,000. Sentencing has been scheduled for May 23, 2017.
The investigation was a joint effort between federal agents and the Waltham Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorney Kenneth G. Shine prosecuted the case, with Acting U.S. Attorney William D. Weinreb and Special Agent in Charge Harold H. Shaw of the FBI Boston Field Division announcing the charges.
For those who know Sullivan or live in the Waltham area, this case serves as a stark reminder of the seriousness of child pornography offenses and the justice system’s commitment to protecting our youth.
