Denver – A Westminster resident has been sentenced to 124 months in federal prison for methamphetamine trafficking and firearms possession in furtherance of a drug crime. Michael Thomas Delguidice, 62, was also ordered to serve three years of supervised release following his prison term.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Colorado revealed the sentence against Delguidice, who had previously been charged with possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine and possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime. According to court documents, Delguidice was involved in a domestic disturbance on December 5, 2020, where he threatened a victim with violence after a shooting incident.
Upon police contact, officers found 93 grams of methamphetamine, a loaded .38 caliber revolver, two speed re-loaders, and $3,405 cash in Delguidice’s jacket. A stolen 10mm Glock semi-automatic handgun and ammunition were discovered in his motorcycle bag. The shell casings from the previous night’s drive-by shooting matched the firearm found at the scene.
Judge William J. Martinez presided over the sentencing on February 7, 2023. The investigation was conducted by the FBI Rocky Mountain Safe Streets Task Force and the Westminster Police Department, with prosecution handled by Assistant United States Attorney Brian Dunn.
This case is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), an initiative designed to reduce violent crime and gun violence across communities. On May 26, 2021, the Department of Justice launched a strategy aimed at fostering trust, supporting community-based organizations, setting enforcement priorities, and measuring results to make neighborhoods safer.
