Williston Predator Sentenced to 50 Years for Sexually Exploiting Minors

GRIMY TIMES EXCLUSIVE: Nicholas Anfin Nesdahl, a 29-year-old from Williston, ND, has been sentenced to 50 years in federal prison for sexually exploiting several minor children. The sentence includes 30 years for North Dakota charges and 20 years for Pennsylvania charges, to run consecutively.

Nesdahl preyed on minors by befriending them online through social networking platforms. He groomed his victims into producing nude or sexually explicit images and videos of themselves. His abhorrent actions were first reported by a parent in Pennsylvania, leading to the discovery of at least seven other victims across multiple states.

United States Attorney Mac Schneider emphasized the gravity of Nesdahl’s crimes, stating, ‘This 50-year sentence is a fitting one considering this defendant’s abhorrent and virtually unspeakable treatment of children.’ The investigation was conducted by Homeland Security Investigations and the North Dakota Bureau of Criminal Investigations Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.

Jamie Holt, HSI Special Agent in Charge, warned parents about the dangers of online platforms, saying, ‘It’s very important that adults have conversations with kids and provide oversight to ensure they aren’t exposed to environments where they could potentially be vulnerable to predators.’

This case is part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative to protect children from online exploitation and abuse. For more information on identifying and reporting such crimes, visit www.projectsafechildhood.gov.
