Felon Sentenced for Possessing Stolen Firearm
A 21-year-old man from Evanston, Wyoming has been sentenced for his role in a gun crime. Stetson Lane Pierce was sentenced by Chief Federal District Court Judge Scott W. Skavdahl on September 25, 2018, to 41 months of imprisonment, to be followed by 36 months of supervised release, and ordered to pay a $400.00 fine and a $200.00 special assessment.
Pierce was arrested in Uinta County, Wyoming for possession of a stolen firearm and being a felon in possession of a firearm. The Evanston Police Department, West Jordan Utah Police Department, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives investigated this case.
This case is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), a program bringing together all levels of law enforcement and the communities they serve to reduce violent crime and make our neighborhoods safer for everyone. Attorney General Jeff Sessions reinvigorated PSN in 2017 as part of the Department’s renewed focus on targeting violent criminals.
Pierce’s sentencing is a significant step forward in the fight against gun crime in Wyoming. The Grimy Times will continue to follow this case and provide updates as more information becomes available.
Meantime, in other news, the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation, Northern Colorado Drug Task Force, DEA, and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives investigated a separate case involving two other defendants.
Kymber Morgan Tiernan, 33, of Cheyenne, Wyoming was sentenced by Federal District Court Judge Alan B. Johnson on September 21, 2018, to 63 months of imprisonment, to be followed by 48 months of supervised release, and ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $500.00. Tiernan was arrested in Cheyenne, Wyoming for conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine.
Karen Kay Strobach-Robles, 55, of Highland, California was sentenced by Federal District Court Judge Alan B. Johnson on September 18, 2018, to 60 months of imprisonment, to be followed by 48 months of supervised release, and ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $500.00. Strobach-Robles was arrested in Riverside, California for conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine.
And, in another case, Starr Dana Miller, 25, of Arapahoe, Wyoming was sentenced by Federal District Court Judge Alan B. Johnson on September 25, 2018, to 18 months of imprisonment, to be followed by 36 months of supervised release, and ordered to pay a $100.00 special assessment. Miller was arrested in Casper, Wyoming for escape from custody.
