Cleveland – A Youngstown-area 41-year-old has been locked up for 23 years after authorities uncovered a sickening stash of over 2,700 child porn videos and images. Christopher Helmick admitted to trading explicit content on social media platforms and grooming underage girls online. His disturbing behavior led to a 280-month sentence from Judge Boyko. Officers seized his electronics in 2024, revealing images of infants and prepubescent victims. Helmick also communicated with minors through social media, manipulating them into sending nude photos. The FBI Youngstown RA and the Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force led this grim investigation. Assistant U.S. Attorney Jennifer J. King prosecuted this case as part of Project Safe Childhood, a federal initiative against child exploitation.
