A resident of Munhall, Pennsylvania, has found himself in hot water with the law after a federal grand jury indicted him on a serious charge.
According to the indictment, 24-year-old Zai Quan Henderson is accused of violating federal firearms laws by possessing a firearm and ammunition as a convicted felon. This is a serious offense, as federal law prohibits individuals who have been convicted of a felony from possessing firearms or ammunition.
The indictment alleges that Henderson was in possession of a firearm and ammunition on or about January 12, 2022. If found guilty, he could face a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000.
The Allegheny County Police Department led the investigation that resulted in Henderson’s indictment. Assistant United States Attorney Brendan T. Conway is prosecuting the case on behalf of the government.
Henderson is currently in the custody of the U.S. Marshals. An indictment is merely an accusation, and Henderson is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
As a convicted felon, Henderson is not allowed to possess firearms or ammunition. If convicted, he could face harsh penalties, including a lengthy prison sentence and significant fines.
The case is a reminder that violating federal firearms laws can have serious consequences. Henderson’s case is ongoing, and he will face the music in a court of law.
