A string of brazen bank robberies shook the streets of Wichita and Junction City in December 2024, leaving behind a trail of fear and uncertainty. But thanks to the tireless efforts of law enforcement, two suspects have been apprehended and charged in connection with the crimes.
Zane Tilcock, 20, of Wichita, is facing three counts of bank robbery in connection with the use of a firearm during the robberies. The charges stem from three separate incidents: the robbery of Intrust Bank on South Webb Road in Wichita on December 11, 2024, the robbery of Emprise Bank on East Harry Street in Wichita on December 16, 2024, and the robbery of Sunflower Bank on North Jefferson Street in Junction City on December 27, 2024.
Tilcock is accused of brandishing a firearm during each of the robberies, putting the lives of innocent bystanders at risk. The FBI, Wichita Police Department, Junction City Police Department, and Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office are investigating the case, with Assistant U.S. Attorney Kari Burks prosecuting the charges.
Emily Wise, 18, of Wichita, is also facing charges in connection with the bank robberies. Wise is accused of robbing Emprise Bank in Wichita on December 16, 2024. The indictment is a serious allegation, but it is essential to note that both Tilcock and Wise are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are working to determine the full extent of the suspects’ involvement in the robberies. The community is breathing a sigh of relief knowing that the perpetrators have been identified and charged.
As the case moves forward, the public will be kept informed of any developments. In the meantime, the people of Wichita and Junction City can rest a little easier knowing that justice is being served.
Zane Tilcock and Emily Wise have been charged through criminal complaint with the following counts:
* Zane Tilcock: Three counts of bank robbery
* Emily Wise: One count of bank robbery
The case is currently pending, and no sentencing information is available at this time. This article will be updated as more information becomes available.
