Zorro Sentenced to 19 Years for Meth and Cocaine Dealing

Orlando, Florida – In a gritty sentencing today, Augusto Rene Reyes-Gonzalez, 37, known to his associates as ‘Zorro,’ was locked behind bars for 19 years and seven months. The Guatemalan national was convicted of conspiracy to distribute cocaine and methamphetamine, along with illegal reentry after prior deportation.

Reyes-Gonzalez pleaded guilty to illegal reentry on April 18, 2025, and on the trial’s first day, he admitted to the remaining charges. His co-conspirators, Calos Grijalva-Garcia and Brandon Charod Smith, were also sentenced, with Grijalva-Garcia receiving 18 months and Smith 21 years and 10 months.

According to court documents, Reyes-Gonzalez, between August and December 2023, acted as a connection for a confidential informant, boasting, ‘Whatever drug you want I can get it.’ He facilitated five cocaine purchases through Grijalva-Garcia and four methamphetamine sales totaling several pounds, along with the sale of a firearm.

This case was a joint effort by the Drug Enforcement Administration, U.S. Customs and Border Patrol, FBI, Brevard County Sheriff’s Office, and Rockledge Police Department. Assistant United States Attorneys Brandon Cruz, Megan Testerman, and Dana E. Hill handled the prosecution.

Reyes-Gonzalez’s sentence sends a stark message to drug traffickers in Central Florida, demonstrating the severity of federal charges for dealing dangerous drugs and illegal reentry.
