Two Baton Rouge men are behind bars on more than 400 combined counts of child pornography, Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry announced today in a sweeping indictment that underscores the state’s escalating battle against online predators.
Rawkwon Reed, 23, was hit with 200 counts of Possession of Sexual Abuse Images/Videos of Children under the age of 13 and an additional 100 counts involving minors over 13. The charges stem from digital evidence uncovered during a joint cyber probe involving the Louisiana Bureau of Investigation (LBI) Cyber Crime Unit, Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), and the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Devante Robertson, 20, faces 114 counts of Possession of Sexual Abuse Images/Videos of Children under 13. His arrest followed a multi-agency sweep that also pulled in the Louisiana State Police, Baton Rouge Police Department, and local sheriff’s deputies, signaling a coordinated crackdown on illicit material traded in hidden corners of the internet.
Both men were taken into custody without incident and booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Jail. No bond information was immediately released, and court dates have not yet been scheduled. The nature and volume of the charges suggest lengthy prison sentences if convicted.
“My office is committed to making our communities safer and arresting child predators,” said General Landry. “We will not sit idly by and allow our State’s children to be taken advantage of.” The attorney general’s office emphasized that these arrests are part of an ongoing statewide initiative targeting digital exploitation of minors.
The investigation remains active as authorities continue to analyze digital devices seized from both suspects. Officials urge anyone with information about child exploitation to contact the Louisiana Bureau of Investigation or report tips anonymously through the AG’s office.
