Baton Rouge is reeling after two local men were hauled off to jail on a combined 414 counts of child pornography. Rawkwon Reed, 23, and Devante Robertson, 20, now face a mountain of charges tied to the possession of graphic sexual abuse images and videos of children—some under the age of 13—following a sweeping cybercrime investigation.
Rawkwon Reed was booked on 200 counts of Possession of Sexual Abuse Images/Videos of Children under 13 and another 100 counts involving minors over 13. Authorities say digital evidence seized during the probe points to a disturbing collection of exploitative material. Reed’s arrest came after a coordinated push by the Louisiana Bureau of Investigation (LBI) Cyber Crime Unit, Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), and the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Devante Robertson, 20, wasn’t far behind in the severity of charges—hit with 114 counts of Possession of Sexual Abuse Images/Videos of Children under 13. His digital footprint allegedly led investigators to a trove of illegal content. The case against him was built through a joint effort involving LBI, HSI, Louisiana State Police, EBR Sheriff’s Office, and the Baton Rouge Police Department.
Both arrests highlight the growing reach of cyber units targeting predators who believe the internet offers anonymity. But Attorney General Jeff Landry made it clear: that shield is cracking. “My office is committed to making our communities safer and arresting child predators,” Landry said. “We will not sit idly by and allow our State’s children to be taken advantage of.”
The investigation remains active, with officials warning that digital footprints leave lasting trails. No additional suspects have been named, but law enforcement sources confirm forensic analysis of seized devices is ongoing. Authorities urge anyone with tips on child exploitation to contact the LBI or call the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
Reed and Robertson are currently held without bond at the East Baton Rouge Parish Jail. If convicted, each faces decades behind bars under Louisiana’s strict child exploitation laws. The case is expected to move to grand jury indictment in the coming weeks.
