Taylor Bourgeois, a 20-year-old man from Avondale, Louisiana, was arrested today on 100 counts of possession of child pornography and 10 counts of distributing pornography involving juveniles. The arrest marks one of the most extensive child exploitation cases pursued by Louisiana’s Attorney General in recent months.
Attorney General Jeff Landry announced the takedown following a coordinated operation involving his office’s Cyber Crime Unit, the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office, Homeland Security Investigations, and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. Authorities said digital evidence seized during the investigation revealed hundreds of illegal images and videos depicting minors.
Bourgeois was taken into custody without incident this morning at his residence in Avondale. He faces a total of 110 felony charges, each carrying potential prison time and mandatory sex offender registration if convicted. Investigators say the material was distributed across multiple online platforms used to share illicit content.
“My office will continue to do all we can to make our communities safer,” said General Landry. “Our Cyber Crime Unit is aggressively pursuing and arresting people who prey on children. We will work tirelessly to take child predators off our streets.”
The Cyber Crime Unit under Landry’s office has prosecuted thousands of computer-facilitated crimes targeting children, including cases involving victims as young as infants. The unit uses digital forensics, IP tracking, and national databases to identify suspects and rescue victims.
