Niquan Odumn, aka ‘Stickz,’ a 23-year-old from Washington D.C., was slapped with a 48-month prison sentence for his role in stealing dozens of firearms from a Maryland pawn shop.
Odumn was sentenced in U.S. District Court on charges of conspiracy to commit theft from a firearms licensee and possession of stolen firearms. In addition to the prison time, U.S. District Court Judge Amy Berman Jackson ordered three years of supervised release.
The burglary went down on December 13, 2023, at the A&D Pawn Shop in Glen Burnie, Maryland. Odumn and at least four co-conspirators drove in two vehicles from Washington D.C. to the pawn shop, a Federal Firearms Licensee. Once inside, the group used a saw to cut the locks on a security gate and a crowbar to pry open the main door.
After breaking in, the quintet grabbed an array of rifles, shotguns, and pistols from the shelves and display racks. They fled with at least 34 firearms, making off with a haul that’s sure to send shivers down the spines of law enforcement agencies.
Odumn was arrested on March 25, 2024, and has been behind bars ever since. He’s not the only one facing heat for this crime, either. Co-defendant Juwon Markel Anderson, 22, was sentenced to 84 months in prison for his role in the burglary and for attempting to sell several of the stolen guns.
This case was investigated by the ATF Washington Field Division and the Metropolitan Police Department, with assistance from the ATF Baltimore Field Division. Assistant U.S. Attorney Shehzad Akhtar is handling the prosecution with the help of former Special Assistant U.S. Attorney Ryan Lipes. The investigation is a testament to the tireless efforts of law enforcement agencies working together to take down gun traffickers and keep our communities safe.
