Three former employees of Catholic Charities in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, have been indicted in a $2 million fraud scheme.
According to a press release from the Google Fraud News, the indictment charges the defendants with conspiracy to commit wire fraud, wire fraud, and money laundering.
The indictment alleges that the defendants, who worked at Catholic Charities’ Milwaukee office, embezzled funds from the organization between 2018 and 2022.
The case is ongoing, and the defendants have not yet entered a plea. The indictment was unsealed on March 8, 2023 in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin.
