Ohio Attorney General’s Office Announces Indictments of 9 Medicaid Providers
On February 22, 2023, a grand jury in Franklin County, Ohio, indicted nine Medicaid providers on various charges related to Medicaid fraud.
The indictment charges the defendants with fraudulent activities, including submitting false claims to the Ohio Medicaid program, failing to provide necessary medical services, and engaging in kickback schemes.
The defendants, who operate medical clinics and pharmacies across Ohio, are accused of bilking the Medicaid program out of millions of dollars.
According to the indictment, the defendants’ actions resulted in the submission of false claims for services that were not provided or were not medically necessary.
The case is being investigated by the Ohio Attorney General’s Medicaid Fraud Control Unit, with assistance from the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
