A South Boston man, Jermaine Tindal, 29, pleaded guilty to one count of being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition in federal court in Boston. The crime occurred on July 19, 2018.
According to the U.S. Attorney’s office, Tindal was previously convicted in South Carolina of a crime punishable by more than one year in prison. He possessed a Harrington and Richardson 12-gauge shotgun and five rounds of Remington 12-gauge ammunition after being convicted.
Tindal then sold the shotgun and ammunition to another individual in the Mary Ellen McCormack public housing development.
He was arrested in September 2018 and has been in custody since. Sentencing is scheduled for July 18, 2019.
The charge of being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition provides for a sentence of up to 10 years in prison, up to three years of supervised release, and a fine of up to $250,000.
