Sallisaw Man Sentenced to 18 Months for Incendiary Bomb Possession

Randall Doyle McGuire, a 39-year-old man from Sallisaw, Oklahoma, has been handed an 18-month prison sentence and three years of supervised release for his involvement in a serious crime. McGuire was found guilty of possessing an unregistered incendiary bomb, a destructive device classified as a firearm under federal law.

The charges against McGuire stemmed from an investigation conducted by the Sallisaw Police Department and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. On July 16, 2018, it was alleged that McGuire knowingly possessed an incendiary bomb within the Eastern District of Oklahoma.

McGuire’s indictment alleged that he did not have the incendiary bomb registered in the National Firearms Registration and Transfer Record, as required by law. The investigation and subsequent charges led to McGuire’s sentencing.

U.S. District Judge Ronald A. White presided over McGuire’s hearing in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma in Muskogee. Assistant U.S. Attorney Dean Burris represented the United States in the case.

The 18-month prison sentence and three years of supervised release handed down to McGuire demonstrate the severity with which the law views crimes involving unregistered destructive devices. As more incidents of incendiary bomb possession come to light, the public must remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the authorities.

The guilty verdict and sentencing of Randall Doyle McGuire serve as a reminder of the importance of adhering to federal firearms regulations and the consequences that follow non-compliance. The public should be aware of the potential risks associated with unregistered destructive devices and the severe penalties that accompany their possession.
