John David Przenkop, the child predator responsible for enticement of minors and sexual misconduct, has been sentenced to 120 months in federal prison followed by lifetime supervision. The 47-year-old from Columbus, Georgia, was found guilty of luring two minor females, ages 14 and 15, with promises of gifts and a shopping spree before engaging in sexual conduct. Przenkop used social media platform MySpace to contact the victims, transporting them from Phenix City, Alabama, to his residence in Columbus for the exploitation. United States Attorney Michael J. Moore emphasized the priority of such cases by noting that there is no parole in the Federal system and the need for lifelong supervision to protect children.

“Cases involving the sexual exploitation of minors are priorities of my office and of the United States Department of Justice,” said Moore. Przenkop’s sentence includes a lifetime of federal supervision, ensuring he cannot prey upon children again.”

J. Britt Johnson, Special Agent in Charge of the FBI Atlanta Field Office, highlighted the role of social media in facilitating such crimes: “This case makes it very clear that while social media platforms have legitimate purposes, they also serve as gateways for predators like Przenkop to harm children.”

The investigation was led by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and Columbus Police Department, with Assistant U.S. Attorney Michael T. Solis handling the prosecution.
