Muskogee, Oklahoma – The United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma has sentenced David Allen Roberts to five months of home detention and five years of probation following his conviction for the theft of government property. Roberts, a 32-year-old resident of Sand Springs, was also ordered to pay $30,727.65 in restitution.

The sentence came after an investigation by the Broken Arrow Police Department, the Naval Criminal Investigation Services, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation into Roberts’ alleged activities between February and October 2013. According to the indictment, Roberts embezzled, stole, purloined, and converted property belonging to the United States, with a value exceeding $1,000.

Roberts pleaded guilty in December 2013, following an arraignment in November of that year. The case was presided over by Honorable Ronald A. White, District Judge for the Eastern District of Oklahoma.

In addition to the home detention and restitution order, Roberts will be under close supervision throughout his probationary period. Assistant United States Attorney Christopher Wilson represented the United States during the hearing.

The charges against Roberts stem from a period when he allegedly converted property for his own use, violating Title 18, United States Code, Section 641. The investigation and subsequent sentencing demonstrate the commitment of law enforcement to hold individuals accountable for stealing from the government.

Roberts’ case serves as a stark reminder of the seriousness with which federal authorities treat cases involving the theft of public property. His sentence ensures that he will face consequences for his actions, while also compensating the government for its losses.
