Allison Faith Battles, Theft Of Government Funds, Oklahoma 2014

ALLISON FAITH BATTLES, a 29-year-old resident of Ardmore, Oklahoma, was handed a severe judicial punch today as she was sentenced to 60 months of probation and ordered to pay $32,613.96 in restitution for her fraudulent theft of government funds.

Battles was found guilty on charges of Making A False Statement and Theft Of Government Funds, violating Title 18, United States Code. The sentence was handed down by District Judge James H. Payne during a hearing at the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma in Muskogee.

This conviction stems from an extensive investigation led by the Oklahoma Department of Human Service and the Social Security Administration Office of Inspector General. Battles was indicted in January 2014 and pleaded guilty in February of the same year.

The court documents detail that on or about February 16, 2012, Battles made a false statement to the Social Security Administration within their jurisdiction. From July 2009 to April 2012, she embezzled money and valuable items from the Oklahoma Department of Human Services. The funds were intended for food stamps and medical benefits, which Battles was not entitled to receive.

Assistant United States Attorney Chris Wilson represented the prosecution in this case, ensuring justice was served for the fraudulent theft of government funds.

Battles’ sentence includes 3 months of home detention, reflecting the severity of her crime. The court’s decision sends a clear message that embezzlement and false statements are grave offenses that will not be tolerated.
