PITTSBURGH – The grim saga of Victoria Rozanski’s financial misdeeds reached a decisive conclusion as the 60-year-old Lawrence County resident was sentenced to 10 months imprisonment and three years supervised release for her embezzlement from the Holy Redeemer Parish Federal Credit Union.
Senior United States District Judge Gustave Diamond meted out justice, handing Rozanski, who served as the credit union’s manager, a sentence that also mandates full restitution of approximately $110,000. The fraudulent activities spanned from January 2003 until May 2009, during which time Rozanski siphoned funds from the Ellwood City institution.
Assistant United States Attorney Lee J. Karl led the government’s charge against Rozanski, ensuring her conviction and subsequent sentencing. U.S. Attorney David J. Hickton extended his praise to the Federal Bureau of Investigation for their diligent work that led to Rozanski’s successful prosecution.
As the judge imposed the sentence, it was clear that Rozanski’s actions had caused significant harm not only to the credit union but also to its members and stakeholders. Her term of supervised release will require her to adhere to strict conditions, ensuring she does not revert to her criminal ways.
This case serves as a stark reminder of the consequences faced by those who abuse their trust in positions of financial authority. Rozanski’s downfall underscores the importance of integrity and transparency in all business dealings.
