Ricky Carle Sentenced for Methamphetamine Ring

Marissa, IL – A ruthless drug ring has met its fate as Ricky M. Carle, 28, of Marissa, was sentenced to federal prison for methamphetamine offenses, according to a statement by Donald S. Boyce, United States Attorney for the Southern District of Illinois.

In a grim display of justice, Carle received a 121-month sentence, accompanied by a three-year term of supervised release and a $400 fine. His downfall began when he plead guilty to conspiracy to manufacture and distribute methamphetamine and possession of pseudoephedrine with intent to manufacture the drug.

The evidence against Carle was as chilling as it was overwhelming. It revealed his involvement in a sprawling operation, including co-defendant Mistry D. Calvert and several others. The ring targeted Williamson, Franklin, and Randolph Counties, where they distributed ‘ice’ – methamphetamine with a purity of at least 80% – along with heroin.

At the sentencing hearing, the court found Carle responsible for the possession of 175.2 grams of pseudoephedrine and the distribution of 25.5 grams of ice and 2.6 kilograms of heroin. Calvert has also pleaded guilty to her part in the drug trade and awaits sentencing on April 19, 2017.

The relentless pursuit of justice was led by the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office, Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, and Marissa Police Department. As these agencies continue their investigation, they underscore the gravity of methamphetamine trafficking and its devastating impact on communities.
