Jamieson & Brown Indicted in Child Porn Ring

MALVERN & NORRISTOWN, PA – Two Pennsylvania men are facing decades behind bars after being indicted on a staggering 42 counts related to the manufacture and distribution of child pornography, and the repeated sexual abuse of a minor. Lawrence Jamieson, 57, of Malvern, and John Brown, 25, of Norristown, were unsealed yesterday, revealing a horrific pattern of exploitation stretching back to 2015.

According to Acting United States Attorney Louis D. Lappen, the charges stem from a sustained campaign of abuse against a minor child over a period exceeding 18 months. The indictment details allegations that Jamieson and Brown not only sexually abused the victim on multiple occasions, but meticulously documented the acts through photographs and video recordings. These images and videos were then allegedly distributed, amplifying the harm inflicted upon the child.

The depravity doesn’t end there. Brown is also accused of taking sexually explicit photos of a separate, even more vulnerable victim – an infant girl. Furthermore, investigators uncovered evidence that both Jamieson and Brown maintained extensive collections of child pornography downloaded from the internet, indicating a deliberate and ongoing engagement with this horrific material. This isn’t a fleeting lapse in judgment; this is a pattern of predatory behavior.

Both defendants were already incarcerated at Chester County Prison on local charges related to the abuse of the minor when they appeared in Magistrate Court in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania today. The federal indictment significantly elevates the stakes, potentially adding decades to any existing sentences. If convicted on all counts, Jamieson and Brown each face a maximum sentence of life imprisonment, including a mandatory minimum of 15 years. They also face years, potentially a lifetime, of supervised release after serving their time.

The financial penalties are equally severe. Jamieson could be fined $5,750,000 and assessed an additional $110,100, while Brown faces a $4,750,000 fine and a $90,100 assessment. The investigation was a collaborative effort between the Willistown Police Department, the Chester County District Attorney’s Office Criminal Investigation Division, and the FBI. Assistant United States Attorney Michelle Rotella is prosecuting the case.

This case falls under Project Safe Childhood, a national initiative launched in 2006 by the Department of Justice to combat child sexual exploitation. The project leverages federal, state, and local resources to identify, apprehend, and prosecute offenders and rescue victims. An indictment is merely an accusation, and both Jamieson and Brown are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. However, the details of this case paint a disturbing picture of calculated cruelty. More information on Project Safe Childhood can be found at www.projectsafechildhood.gov.
