Boston Man Pleads Guilty to Fentanyl Distribution

BOSTON – In a disturbing case, Csean Skerritt, a/k/a “Shizz Grimmy,” a/k/a “Black,” 36, has pleaded guilty to distributing fentanyl in Boston. This conviction marks a significant blow to the city’s ongoing struggle against the opioid epidemic.

Skerritt, who is currently awaiting trial on murder charges in Massachusetts state court, pleaded guilty to one count of distribution of 40 grams or more of fentanyl. U.S. District Court Judge Nathaniel M. Gorton scheduled sentencing for June 6, 2025.

According to the indictment, in February 2023, Skerritt agreed to sell 50 grams of fentanyl to an individual in exchange for $1,500. Following a series of communications, Skerritt met the individual at a pre-arranged location, where he provided approximately 52.3 grams of fentanyl in exchange for the agreed-upon amount.

The charge of distribution of 40 grams or more of fentanyl carries a sentence of at least five years and up to 40 years in prison, at least four years of supervised release, and a fine of up to $5 million. Sentences are imposed by a federal district court judge based upon the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and statutes that govern the determination of a sentence in a criminal case.

United States Attorney Leah B. Foley, Jodi Cohen, Special Agent in Charge of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Boston Division, Boston Police Commissioner Michael Cox, and Suffolk County District Attorney Kevin Hayden made the announcement today.

Assistant U.S. Attorney John T. Dawley of the Organized Crime & Gang Unit is prosecuting the case. The guilty plea is a significant development in the ongoing effort to combat fentanyl trafficking and the devastating impact it has on Boston’s communities.

Skerritt’s conviction serves as a reminder of the grave consequences of engaging in fentanyl distribution and the importance of holding individuals accountable for their actions.
