Ryan Scott Solis, Child Pornography, Texas 2013

HOUSTON – A Huffman resident has been sentenced to nearly two decades in federal prison for distributing and possessing child pornography, announced United States Attorney Kenneth Magidson.

Ryan Scott Solis, 32, pleaded guilty to the charges on January 25, 2013, after an undercover officer observed his IP address sharing incest or child rape stories, images and videos of child pornography with others online.

Upon executing a search warrant at his address, authorities seized three hard drives, one computer tower and miscellaneous CDs/DVDs, which contained over 2,700 child pornography images and more than 540 child pornography videos.

One of the images displayed a 4-6 year-old female victim being penetrated by an adult male.

As part of the documents in support of his plea, Solis admitted to possessing and distributing child pornography.

U.S. District Judge Melinda Harmon sentenced Solis to 210 months in federal prison without parole, as well as 10 years of post-prison supervised release and ordered him to register as a sex offender.

The sentence will run concurrently with a 120-month sentence for the possession conviction.

Solis has been in federal custody since July 13, 2012, and will remain there pending transfer to a U.S. Bureau of Prisons facility to be determined in the near future.

The case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched in May 2006 to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse.
