Louisville Predator Shaun Dickson Sentenced to 32 Years for Child Pornography

LOUISVILLE, KY – In a sweeping victory against online predators, Shaun Douglas Dickson, 26, of Louisville, Kentucky, was sentenced to 32 years in federal prison on Monday, followed by a life term of Supervised Release. The sentence came after Dickson’s conviction for production, attempted production, distribution, and possession of child pornography.

According to court documents, between 2017 and 2019, Dickson engaged in disturbing conversations with children online, posing as both an 11-year-old girl and a 13-year-old boy. He not only sent images of child pornography but also coercively induced young girls from Greece and Australia into creating sexually explicit content for him. His threats included distributing his illegal material to friends and family if the victims did not comply, which he followed through with.

The search warrant executed at Dickson’s residence in 2019 uncovered over 1,200 images and videos of child pornography. United States Attorney Michael A. Bennett hailed the teamwork that brought this predator to justice, commending the efforts of Attorney General Cameron’s office and HSI Nashville.

Attorney General Cameron emphasized the importance of collaboration among law enforcement agencies like Cyber Crimes Unit, HSI, and U.S. Attorney Bennett’s team in halting the online exploitation of children. Special Agent in Charge Jerry C. Templet, Jr., of HSI Nashville, highlighted the agency’s commitment to protecting vulnerable children from online predators.

The Office of the Kentucky Attorney General and the United States Department of Homeland Security’s HSI investigated the case, with Assistant U.S. Attorneys Alicia Gomez and Stephanie Zimdahl prosecuting it. This sentence is part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative aimed at combating child sexual exploitation and abuse since 2006.
