PENSACOLA, FLORIDA – A federal jury in Pensacola delivered a conviction against Michael Tyrone Lindsey, 38, of Pensacola, for possession with intent to distribute over 50 grams of methamphetamine, as well as firearms offenses. The guilty verdict was announced by Jason R. Coody, United States Attorney for the Northern District of Florida.
Lindsey’s arrest at his hotel room in Pensacola uncovered a cache of drugs and a firearm. Officers seized over 200 grams of pure methamphetamine and a loaded handgun during the search, which followed a state search warrant obtained after finding cash and drugs on the bed where Lindsey was arrested. Further investigation revealed a Facebook video Lindsey posted days before his arrest, showcasing him with drugs and a gun.
Lindsey’s sentencing hearing is set for May 15, 2023, at 9:00 a.m., before United States District Judge M. Casey Rodgers. As an Armed Career Criminal, Lindsey faces mandatory enhanced sentences for his convictions, including life imprisonment for the methamphetamine charge and substantial fines.
The investigation leading to Lindsey’s conviction was a collaboration between the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives, the Pensacola Police Department, and the United States Marshals. Assistant United States Attorney Jeffrey M. Tharp prosecuted the case.
