Fort Lauderdale’s Tyrone Parker, 41, was sentenced today to 57 months in federal prison for his role as a leader of the notorious “Felony Lane Gang,” according to officials from the United States Attorney’s Office.
Parker, who pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit bank fraud and aggravated identity theft, admitted to participating in a scheme that spanned across the country from 2019 to 2020. The gang would break into cars, often targeting those parked by women at places like health clubs, daycares, and parks. They stole debit cards, credit cards, checkbooks, and photo identifications, using these items to cash checks through drive-through bank lanes with women acting as stooges for the fraud.
“Parker’s sentence sends a strong message that those who participate in organized fraudulent schemes will be held accountable,” said United States Attorney Carla B. Freedman. “The FBI and our law enforcement partners are committed to dismantling these types of criminal enterprises.”
In addition to his prison term, Parker was ordered to pay restitution totaling $132,990 and a money judgment of $7,202. He will also serve a 3-year term of supervised release upon his release from prison.
Keyshawn Arnold, Gary Grier, Joshua Mallory, and Terrell McDonald have already pleaded guilty for their involvement in the scheme. The remaining co-defendants, including Tyrone Parker Jr., Cedric Lynch, Robert Natson, and Randall Taylor, await trial on charges of conspiracy to commit bank fraud and/or aggravated identity theft.
The investigation into this case has involved multiple FBI field offices across the nation, as well as local law enforcement agencies from a variety of states. The charges against the remaining defendants are mere accusations, and they are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.”
