KC Meth Kingpin Fejzic Gets 24 Years

KANSAS CITY, MO – A major player in a multi-million dollar methamphetamine operation has been taken off the streets. Fahrudin F. Fejzic, also known as “Frank,” 51, of Kansas City, Missouri, received a 24-year and two-month federal prison sentence on Thursday, February 9th, after being convicted for his role in a conspiracy that flooded the city with nearly 1,000 kilograms of meth. The sentence, handed down by U.S. District Judge Greg Kays, also includes a $325,000 money judgment to recover proceeds from the illegal drug trafficking.

The investigation, a brutal illustration of the scale of the drug trade in the Midwest, revealed a sophisticated operation distributing massive quantities of methamphetamine. Fejzic wasn’t just moving product; he was armed to the teeth. On February 19, 2019, during surveillance of co-defendant Mirza Alihodzic’s residence, Fejzic was stopped by police and found to be carrying a loaded Smith & Wesson 9mm tucked into his waistband, along with over two kilograms of methamphetamine and a fully-loaded AK-47 variant. This wasn’t a simple drug deal gone wrong; it was a clear intent to protect a lucrative criminal enterprise with force.

Lloyd L. Hagan, also known as “Trey,” 45, of Kansas City, Missouri, also faced justice today, receiving 18 years and nine months in federal prison. He, too, was ordered to pay a money judgment – $19,442 – representing his share of the illicit profits. Hagan acted as a key middleman, distributing nearly two kilograms of methamphetamine himself, often receiving the drug as payment for work on properties linked to the conspiracy. He facilitated the flow of product, picking up half-pound and quarter-pound amounts to feed the street-level market.

The network extended beyond Fejzic and Hagan. Mirza Alihodzic, 37, of Kansas City, Missouri, previously sentenced on December 1, 2022, received a staggering 35-year sentence and was ordered to forfeit over $1.1 million. Authorities seized 18 firearms from Alihodzic’s BMW, including a machine gun and stolen handgun, highlighting the dangerous combination of drugs and weapons fueling the operation. Alihodzic was responsible for trafficking 113.79 kilograms (over 250 pounds) of methamphetamine. Eighteen defendants in total have now been convicted through two indictments stemming from this case, with fifteen already sentenced.

Assistant U.S. Attorneys Bradley K. Kavanaugh, Sean T. Foley, and Special Assistant U.S. Attorney Stephanie Bradshaw prosecuted the case, which was a collaborative effort between the Kansas City Police Department, the FBI, the Missouri State Highway Patrol, and the Mid-Missouri Drug Task Force. This case is part of the Department of Justice’s Project Safe Neighborhoods, a program dedicated to reducing violent crime and making communities safer.

The sentences delivered to Fejzic, Hagan, and Alihodzic send a clear message: those who profit from poisoning communities with methamphetamine and arm themselves for protection will face severe consequences. While these convictions represent a significant blow to this particular organization, the fight against drug trafficking and violent crime in Kansas City, and across the nation, remains a constant battle.
