Rodriguez-Inestroza Admits to Sickening Child Porn Distribution

BATON ROUGE, LA – Olvin Rodriguez-Inestroza, 22, a Honduran national unlawfully present in the United States, has admitted to a depraved act: distributing child pornography. The guilty plea, entered before U.S. Chief Judge Shelly D. Dick, exposes a digital pipeline of abuse and a disturbing collection of exploitation material.

According to court admissions, Rodriguez-Inestroza wasn’t simply a passive viewer. He actively distributed this filth, utilizing internet accounts and a social media application to spread the images and videos of abused children. The scope of his depravity extended beyond distribution; authorities discovered a sickening hoard on his smartphone – at least 205 videos and approximately 325 images depicting child pornography. Cruelly, some of the videos featured toddlers.

Acting United States Attorney Ellison C. Travis didn’t mince words in announcing the plea. This isn’t just a crime against children, it’s a betrayal of trust and a violation of the most vulnerable. Rodriguez-Inestroza now faces a substantial penalty for his actions. The defendant is looking at a minimum of five years and a maximum of 20 years behind bars, alongside a potential $250,000 fine. The sentence doesn’t end there – he will also be required to register as a sex offender for life and, following completion of his sentence, will be subject to removal or deportation from the United States.

The investigation into Rodriguez-Inestroza’s crimes was a multi-agency effort. The U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Homeland Security Investigations, the Louisiana Bureau of Investigation, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, and the Baton Rouge Police Department all contributed to bringing this predator to justice. Assistant United States Attorney Edward H. Warner, also serving as Deputy Criminal Chief, is leading the prosecution.

This case falls under the umbrella of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched in 2006 by the Department of Justice to aggressively combat the escalating epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse. The program strategically pools federal, state, and local resources to locate, apprehend, and prosecute those who prey on children online, and to rescue the victims. More information on Project Safe Childhood can be found at http://www.justice.gov/psc.

Furthermore, this prosecution is part of Operation Take Back America, a broader Department of Justice initiative designed to address illegal immigration, dismantle cartels and transnational criminal organizations, and protect communities from violent crime. This operation streamlines resources from the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETFs) and Project Safe Neighborhood (PSN), demonstrating a comprehensive approach to combating criminal activity at the federal level. The message is clear: those who exploit children and violate U.S. law will be relentlessly pursued and brought to account.
