BUFFALO, N.Y. – A 29-year-old Buffalo man named Aden Ibrahim faces a stern federal charge after being arrested on allegations of being a felon in possession of ammunition, a crime that carries a maximum penalty of 15 years in prison.
The grim details were revealed by U.S. Attorney Michael DiGiacomo, who announced the charges against Ibrahim. On July 9, 2025, Buffalo Police were called to a Woodette Place residence for a report of an ‘Unwelcomed Guest.’ The complainant, identifying the suspect as ‘Beano,’ claimed he was in possession of crack cocaine and a firearm.
When officers arrived, they observed ‘Beano’ exit the residence and attempt to flee on foot. He was caught with a U.S. Permanent Resident Card that identified him as Aden Ibrahim. Later at the scene, detectives found a revolver with tape on the handle lying on the floor in a bedroom where ‘Beano’ had been staying.
Detectives secured a search warrant and discovered the firearm, ammunition, approximately 26 grams of suspected crack cocaine base, and drug paraphernalia. Ibrahim has previously been convicted of felonies in March 2022 and January 2024, making him legally prohibited from possessing ammunition.
After an initial appearance before U.S. District Judge Michael J. Romer, Ibrahim was detained. This case is a component of Operation Take Back America, a nationwide initiative aimed at eliminating cartels, transnational criminal organizations, and violent crime.
The investigation leading to this arrest was conducted by the Buffalo Police Department under Commissioner Alphonso Wright and Homeland Security Investigations under Special Agent-in-Charge Erin Keegan. As always, it is crucial to remember that the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
