Yehoshua Kilp, Drug Distribution, WA 2024

TACOMA, WA — Yehoshua Kilp, the ruthless leader of a Aryan prison gang-linked drug distribution cell, was today sentenced to 14 years in federal prison by U.S. District Judge David G. Estudillo. The sentencing followed a two-year investigation into drug trafficking organizations linked to the Aryan Family and Omerta prison gangs.

Kilp, aged 39, has been indicted for his role in the distribution of vast quantities of methamphetamine, heroin, and fentanyl pills. According to prosecutors, Kilp’s activities caused significant harm and he continued to direct drug operations even while incarcerated on state charges. His reign of terror came to an end after a coordinated law enforcement takedown that resulted in 24 arrests and the seizure of hundreds of kilograms of drugs.

The investigation revealed that Kilp was also involved in money laundering, funneling proceeds back to his suppliers in Mexico. His co-conspirators schemed to distribute increasingly potent batches of fentanyl despite being aware of the deadly consequences. Kilp’s influence within the drug ring was so profound that he even orchestrated distribution during his own jail term, using proxies to continue operations.

In a hearing that detailed the scope of Kilp’s criminal activities, Judge Estudillo emphasized the gravity of the case, noting the “mind-boggling” amounts of drugs involved and the discussion about potent fentanyl batches leading to overdoses. Acting U.S. Attorney Teal Luthy Miller highlighted Kilp’s long history with the criminal justice system, starting at age 14.

Today’s sentencing follows that of Jesse Bailey, the top-level leader of the drug trafficking ring, who was handed a sentence of 17.5 years. Kilp was given a slightly shorter term but still faces five years of supervised release upon his prison term. This case is part of an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF) investigation, which employs a multi-agency approach to dismantle high-level criminal networks.
