A Houston man has been sentenced to 480 months in prison for producing and distributing child pornography.
Adam Michael Ohlsen, 44, pleaded guilty to the charges on May 5, 2022.
According to court documents, Ohlsen produced and distributed child pornography using a Russian image hosting website in 2022.
Law enforcement discovered evidence of the child pornography on the website and found images of a minor victim being sexually abused on an image sharing platform.
Ohlsen confessed to the abuse and distribution, and will remain in custody pending transfer to a U.S. Bureau of Prisons facility.
The investigation was conducted by Homeland Security Investigations with the assistance of the Queensland Police Service.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Christine Lu prosecuted the case, which was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative to combat child sexual exploitation and abuse.
Ohlsen will also have to register as a sex offender and comply with numerous requirements designed to restrict his access to children and the internet during his supervised release, which will last for the remainder of his life.
