A Minneapolis man has been sentenced to 37 months in prison for his role in a disturbing case of sexual assault of a minor in South Dakota. Adam Standing Soldier, 25, pleaded guilty to the charge on February 14, 2013, after engaging in a sexual act with a minor on February 5, 2012.
The offense took place in South Dakota, where Standing Soldier was subsequently sentenced by Chief Judge Jeffrey L. Viken of the U.S. District Court on May 31, 2013. In addition to his prison term, Standing Soldier was also handed a $100 special assessment to the Federal Crime Victims Fund and 5 years of supervised release.
