Mexican National Sentenced to 8 Months in Prison for Unlawful Reentry
MUSKOGEE, OKLAHOMA – Adan Garcia-Nava, a/k/a Adan Garcia, age 36, of Mexico, was sentenced to eight months in prison for one count of Unlawful Reentry of Removed Alien.
The charge arose from an investigation by the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Immigration and Customs Enforcement Division.
Garcia-Nava pleaded guilty on September 19, 2024, to the charge. According to investigators, on May 20, 2024, Garcia-Nava, an alien, was found in the United States after having been previously deported and removed on four prior occasions.
The Honorable Ronald A. White, Chief U.S. District Judge in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma, presided over the hearing.
Garcia-Nava will remain in the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service pending transportation to a designated United States Bureau of Prisons facility to serve a non-paroleable sentence of incarceration.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Richard J. Lorenz represented the United States.
Garcia-Nava will serve his 8-month sentence for Unlawful Reentry of Removed Alien, a serious crime that carries significant consequences. The U.S. Marshals Service will oversee his transfer to a federal prison facility.
