Agustin Osorio-Lopez, 42, Sentenced for Drug Trafficking and Gun Crimes in Alabama
Montgomery, Alabama – Agustin Osorio-Lopez, a 42-year-old man from Hidalgo, Mexico, has been sentenced to 10 years in federal prison for his involvement in a drug trafficking and gun crime operation in Elmore County.
On February 10, 2026, U.S. District Court Judge sentenced Osorio-Lopez to 120 months in federal prison. There is no parole in the federal system. Following his 10-year term of imprisonment, Osorio-Lopez will be subject to removal proceedings.
Osorio-Lopez pleaded guilty to the following charges: possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine and marijuana, possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug-trafficking crime, possession of a firearm by an alien unlawfully present in the United States, and illegal reentry after deportation.
The arrest of Osorio-Lopez occurred on September 22, 2025 in Elmore, Alabama. Law enforcement officers seized methamphetamine, marijuana, multiple handguns, digital scales, and other items commonly associated with drug distribution.
The investigation was conducted by the Department of Homeland Security Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) Enforcement Removal Operations (ERO) and the Elmore County Sheriff’s Office, with assistance from the Drug Enforcement Administration Southeast Laboratory in Miami, Florida.
Assistant United States Attorney Eric M. Counts prosecuted the case.
Osorio-Lopez’s sentence is part of Operation Take Back America, a nationwide initiative to repel the invasion of illegal immigration, achieve the total elimination of cartels and transnational criminal organizations (TCOs), and protect our communities from the perpetrators of violent crime.
