FRESNO, California – A disturbing trend of drug trafficking continues to plague our communities. A recent case highlights the severity of the issue. Alejandro Lopez, 51, of Culiacán, Sinaloa, Mexico, was sentenced to seven and a half years in prison for possessing methamphetamine with intent to distribute.
Lopez’s journey to incarceration began when he was stopped for a traffic violation in Merced County. The stop was made on an unspecified date, but it ultimately led to the discovery of 32 pounds of methamphetamine hidden in a spare tire of his vehicle.
