Alexander Ciccolo, Being a Felon in Possession of Firearms, Massachusetts 2015

A 23-year-old man from Adams, Massachusetts, has been arrested and charged with being a felon in possession of firearms, according to a complaint unsealed today by authorities.

Alexander Ciccolo, also known as Ali Al Amriki, was taken into custody on July 4, 2015, immediately after taking delivery of four firearms from a cooperating individual.

The firearms included a Colt AR-15 .223 caliber rifle, a SigArms Model SG550-1 556 caliber rifle, a Glock 17- 9mm pistol, and a Glock 20-10 mm pistol.

Ciccolo, a convicted felon, was prohibited from possessing firearms due to his prior conviction.

According to the complaint affidavit, Ciccolo allegedly spoke with a cooperating witness in recorded conversations about his plans to commit acts of terrorism inspired by the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL).

Agents also observed Ciccolo purchasing a pressure cooker similar to those used in the Boston Marathon bombings, and found several partially constructed ‘Molotov cocktails’ during a search of his apartment.

A detention hearing has been scheduled for July 14, 2015 at 3:30 p.m. at the U.S. District Court in Springfield, Massachusetts.

The charge of being a felon in possession of firearms carries a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison, three years of supervised release, and a fine of $250,000.
