Alfonzo Williams, Murder, California 2012

Alfonzo Williams, a member of the Central Divis Playas gang, has been charged with murder and racketeering conspiracy in a superseding indictment returned by a federal grand jury in San Francisco, California.

The indictment charges Williams, also known as ‘Fonz’ and ‘Relly,’ with participating in a racketeering conspiracy involving the Central Divis Playas gang, which is based in the Western Addition neighborhood of San Francisco.

The gang’s activities are alleged to have included murder, attempted murder, robbery, narcotics trafficking, pimping, pimping of minors, and extortion.

Williams is also charged with murder in aid of racketeering and associated firearms charges for the June 4, 2012, murder of Calvin Sneed in San Francisco.

Williams, along with nine other defendants, was already in state or federal custody at the time of the indictment. The defendants are listed below:

The prosecution is the result of a joint investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the San Francisco Police Department’s Gang Task Force, Homicide Detail, Robbery Detail, Special Victims Unit, and the Northern, Park, and Bayview Stations, the San Francisco District Attorney’s Office, and the San Pablo Police Department.

Williams and the other defendants face a maximum term of imprisonment of life, and Reginald Elmore and Charles Heard could face a death sentence following consideration of the case by the U.S. Attorney General.
