A California man was sentenced to 78 months in federal prison for smuggling large quantities of heroin and methamphetamine to Kansas City.
KANSAS CITY, KAN. – Allan Bryan DeJesus, 40, of Bakersfield, Calif., pleaded guilty to one count of possession with intent to distribute heroin.
According to court documents, DeJesus was on his way to Kansas City on January 5, 2019, when the Kansas Highway Patrol pulled him over on I-70 in Thomas County.
In DeJesus’ vehicle, a trooper found two pounds of heroin and 20 pounds of crystal methamphetamine.
U.S. Attorney Stephen McAllister commended the Kansas Highway Patrol, the Drug Enforcement Administration, and Assistant U.S. Attorney David Lind for their work on the case.
A federal prison sentence of 78 months is a significant consequence for DeJesus, who will now face the consequences of his actions.
