A brazen bank robbery in Orange, Texas, has resulted in a 50-year-old Louisiana man spending time behind bars. Allen Keith Miller, a Cameron, LA, resident, was sentenced to 57 months in federal prison for bank robbery in the Eastern District of Texas.

According to court records, on June 25, 2013, Miller entered the Capital One Bank branch office located on 16th Street in Orange, Texas, wearing a blonde wig, baseball cap, long-sleeve shirt, tan pants, and a black knee brace. Miller approached a bank teller and presented a hand-written note advising that the bank was being robbed. Miller also advised that he was armed, although a weapon was not displayed.

Media outlets broadcast footage of the bank robbery, and Miller was identified by citizens. Miller was stopped by law enforcement officers in Louisiana, at which time items from the robbery, including the wig, baseball cap, clothing, and knee brace, were located in Miller’s vehicle.

Miller has also been ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $963. This case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Orange Police Department and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney John Craft.
