A Jackson man has been brought to justice for his role in a serious crime. Alreco Hill, 33, was sentenced to three years and one month in prison for being a felon in possession of a firearm.
Hill’s crime was discovered on May 8, 2020, during a traffic stop by an officer of the Jackson Police Department. The officer found a pistol in the right front pocket of Hill’s pants.
Hill’s lengthy rap sheet includes multiple prior felony convictions. As a convicted felon, it is contrary to federal law for him to possess any firearm.
The Jackson Police Department and the FBI investigated the case, working together to gather evidence and build a strong case against Hill.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Jessica S. Terrill prosecuted the case, ensuring that Hill was held accountable for his actions.
Hill’s sentence is a result of the joint federal, state, and local Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN) Program. The PSN Program aims to reduce violent crime by identifying the most pressing problems in the community and developing comprehensive solutions to address them.
Hill’s case is a prime example of the success of the PSN Program. His sentence serves as a warning to others who would consider committing similar crimes.
