Andrew Gere, Failing to Register as a Sex Offender, Pennsylvania 2021

A former Johnstown man’s failure to register as a sex offender has landed him in hot water. Andrew Gere, 53, has pleaded guilty to a charge of failure to register as a sex offender in federal court.

Gere’s crime occurred from February 2, 2021, to July 20, 2021, during which time he knowingly failed to register and update his registration, as required by the Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act.

The United States Attorney for the Western District of Pennsylvania, Cindy K. Chung, announced the guilty plea, which was made before United States District Judge Stephanie Haines. Gere’s case was investigated by the United States Marshals Service.
