Pittsburgh, PA – A New York man has been sentenced to four years and nine months in federal prison for traveling to Pennsylvania to engage in illicit sex with a minor.
On December 7, 2017, Andrew Michael Dubois, 32, of Jamestown, New York, knowingly traveled from New York to Pennsylvania for the purpose of engaging in illicit sexual conduct with a minor.
United States District Judge Cathy Bissoon imposed the sentence yesterday on Dubois, who was convicted of traveling with intent to engage in illicit sexual conduct.
Dubois was also sentenced to 25 months of supervised release and a $5,000 special assessment under the Justice for Victims of Trafficking Act.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Jessica Lieber Smolar on behalf of the government.
United States Attorney Scott W. Brady commended the Department of Homeland Security, Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), and the North Strabane Police Department for the investigation leading to the successful prosecution of Dubois.
