Casa Grande Man Sentenced to 10 Years for Enticement of a Minor

TUCSON, Ariz. — A Casa Grande man has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for enticing a minor, a federal judge ruled Monday.

Adam Tovar, 32, pleaded guilty to Enticement of a Minor in June after communicating with a person he knew was a minor via Snapchat from December 19 through 29, 2022. During that time, he persuaded, induced, enticed, and coerced the victim to engage in sexual activities with him.

On December 29, 2022, Tovar was found transporting the minor victim in the front passenger seat of his vehicle during a traffic stop by the Marana Police Department. In his guilty plea, Tovar admitted that he had intended to transport the victim from the victim’s home to a hotel, where he intended to engage in sexual acts with the victim.

Tovar will also be required to register as a sex offender upon his release from prison. Homeland Security Investigations conducted the investigation in this case, with Assistant U.S. Attorneys Nathaniel J. Walters and Sarah J. Precup, District of Arizona, Tucson, handling the prosecution.

Tovar’s sentencing comes after a thorough investigation by Homeland Security Investigations. The case serves as a reminder of the importance of protecting our children from predators.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office, District of Arizona, handled the prosecution. For more information on the office, visit www.justice.gov/usao/az/.
